Modular silo

Compact storage structured for gradual automation

The modular silo provides storage within a defined, affordable framework. Built from stackable cylindrical modules (1000 mm diameter, 1000 mm height), each level stores approximately 520 kg of green coffee or 260 kg of roasted coffee. Configurable from 1 to 6 independent cells and up to four stacked levels per cell, it enables controlled automation even in limited spaces. Because it is modular rather than fully custom-built, it remains economically efficient while supporting structured growth. In its largest standard configuration — six cells stacked over four levels — the system stores approximately 12.5 tonnes of green coffee.

How it works

Cells are filled pneumatically using vacuum conveying. Coffee is received in a central hopper connected to all selected silo cells and distributed according to configuration.

Discharge can be manual, automatic, or routed to a centralized unloading station. Each cell can be mounted on load cells, ensuring precise visibility of how much coffee is discharged and portioned.

For roasted coffee applications, degassing valves and impact-reducing discharge geometry maintain bean integrity before grinding or packaging. For green coffee discharged via an unloading station, integrated dust extraction interfaces capture airflow and send dust to filters or cyclones, preventing dispersion in production areas.

When it makes sense

The Modular silo is relevant when structured storage is needed but a centralized multi-cell system is unnecessary. It is particularly suited for smaller or growing roasteries introducing automation progressively or for facilities where space constraints prevent larger silo architectures.

When investment must remain controlled while improving dosing consistency and reducing manual handling, the modular configuration provides a practical and scalable solution.

Key benefits

First step into storage automation

Manual scooping becomes inefficient as volumes increase. This system introduces structured dosing and controlled discharge once production reaches industrial rhythm.

Grow with your roastery

Capacity expands by adding additional cells as storage requirements increase. The pneumatic feeding system and discharge configuration remain flexible as the installation evolves.

Flexible and economical discharge

Manual or automatic discharge can be installed under each cell. Alternatively, coffee can be routed to a centralized unloading station without modifying the overall workflow.

Software & inventory visibility

The system integrates with plant control software, providing visibility of stored and discharged volumes. Automated discharge options enable repeatable dosing for single origins or blends when paired with an unloading station.
