Roastworks was born from decades of experience in the coffee world. Our roots go back to Schuilenburg, a long-established Belgian distributor representing several international premium brands. But roasteries didn’t come only for machines. They came with questions: How do we build a plant that truly works? How do we connect processes? And how do we scale production without losing control? Behind these questions was a deeper challenge: building a coffee factory that functions as one coherent system.

As Schuilenburg supported roasteries working with multiple suppliers, one issue became increasingly clear. Multi-vendor production factories often lacked alignment. Machines didn’t integrate smoothly. Responsibilities were fragmented. And when problems occurred, suppliers too often pointed fingers instead of solving them together. For roasteries, this meant complexity, inefficiencies and unnecessary operational risk.

Schuilenburg began stepping in as more than a distributor. It became a technical partner, helping roasteries connect equipment, processes and workflows into functional production environments. This often resulted in tailor-made solutions: carefully selected machines, smart integrations and production flows designed around the operational reality of each roastery.

What started as technical support gradually evolved into something larger. The demand for this integrated approach grew, and projects increasingly expanded beyond individual machines toward complete production design. More roasteries were looking for guidance in building scalable, future-proof coffee factories.
